Before, during or after orthodontic treatment, you’ll likely be prescribed some sort of orthodontic appliance to progress, maintain or protect your smile. We’ve listed a few of the more common appliances below.

Palatal Expander – This is an orthodontic appliance used to create a wider space in the upper jaw. It is typically used when the upper jaw is too narrow for the lower jaw or when the upper teeth are crowded.

Retainer – Retainers are used to correct minor rotations of anterior teeth or to keep teeth in their desired positions once braces are removed. It’s important to wear your retainer exactly as Dr. Nejat prescribes!

Mouth Guard – Anyone participating in a contact sport should wear a mouth guard to protect your teeth and jaw. Don’t have a mouth guard? Ask us!
