Orthodontic Retention

retainer-casesYay! You’re finished treatment. It’s a very exciting time! Now you’ve graduated to the retention phase of treatment.  This is one of the most important phases of your treatment. We’ve worked so hard to get your smile perfect. Once braces are removed, teeth have a tendency to want to shift back to their original positions. To make sure that doesn’t happen, your retainers must be worn faithfully!

Be sure to wear your retainers exactly as Dr. Nejat has prescribed. As the years pass, you’ll wear them less and less but NEVER throw them away.

Retainer Care:

It’s important to take care of your retainers. When you remove them in the morning, brush them carefully with your toothbrush and toothpaste to remove any plaque buildup. When you’re not wearing your retainers, be sure to put them in your retainer case.

If at any time your retainers become too tight call our office so we can check it out.
